HOW IT ALL STARTED
Dan and Brett had each spent years working with athletes recovering from ACL injuries. Both had seen the same problem: rehab programs that lacked structure, testing, and performance focus. Too many athletes were being cleared before they were truly ready.
When they met on their first shift together at Physiomoves, it didn’t take long to realize they shared the same drive to do better. From that day on, they’ve been building what was missing — a complete system for ACL recovery.
That system is now Project ACL: a comprehensive, athlete-focused rehab and strength program designed to get you not just back to sport — but back to performance.
“They knew there had to be a better way.”

Brett is a Sports Physiotherapist with a deep passion for high-performance rehab and athlete development. After completing his Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of Toronto, he went on to earn his Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Manitoba. His commitment to excellence in sport rehabilitation led him to achieve his Sports Physiotherapy Canada Certificate in 2024.
With over a decade of experience as a Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT), Brett brings a performance lens to his physiotherapy practice. He’s worked with athletes at every level — from youth development to elite sport — and has served as team therapist for the Surrey Eagles Junior A Hockey Club and the Delta Hockey Academy since 2019.
As a former varsity athlete and CIS Academic All-Canadian, Brett understands firsthand the physical and mental demands of competitive sport. His hockey journey even included dressing for a game with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2013 and suiting up as an emergency backup goalie for the Winnipeg Jets in 2017.
At Physiomoves, Brett has led the Return to Performance and High Performance programs since 2022. His belief that traditional rehab often falls short for athletes with complex injuries was the driving force behind co-founding Project ACL and the Acute Knee Injury Clinic. Brett is passionate about building structured, progressive programs that support every stage of an athlete’s recovery — from early rehab to return to peak performance.
Outside the clinic, you’ll likely find Brett on the golf course, squash court, or adventuring with his wife, baby daughter, and their energetic Australian Shepherd.

Physiotherapist
Since 2012, Dan has practiced as a Physiotherapist at a renowned sports medicine clinic in Vancouver and is excited to bring his services to Surrey at Physiomoves. Dan's goal is to help people return to the activities they love, and his practice is grounded in a deep understanding of both the science of rehabilitation and the mindset of an athlete. As a father, physiotherapist, and athlete himself, he understands the physical and mental demands of staying active while navigating the responsibilities of daily life.
Dan is the co-founder of Project ACL — British Columbia’s most comprehensive ACL rehabilitation and return-to-sport program. With a strong foundation in strength and conditioning, he has played a key role in developing a high-performance rehab system that bridges the gap between surgery and full return to sport. His approach combines individualized physiotherapy, advanced testing protocols, progressive strength programming, and on-field readiness — ensuring athletes are not just cleared, but truly prepared to return to performance.
Dan’s clinical expertise lies in post-surgical rehabilitation, with a particular focus on ACL reconstruction. He is passionate about helping individuals rebuild capacity, restore confidence, and return stronger than before. Dan believes that we are all athletes — whether you’re progressing from walking to running or preparing for a career in professional sport. He works closely with athletes of all levels, including swimmers, olympic weightlifters, basketball players, soccer players, and runners. His commitment to athletic development and performance rehab is reflected in every stage of care, from early recovery to advanced, sport-specific progression.
In his practice, Dan integrates manual therapy, dry needling, and advanced exercise-based techniques, drawing from his extensive background in strength and conditioning to design tailored rehabilitation programs that are both effective and sustainable.

REAL ATHLETES, REAL RESULTS
“I worked with Brett over several years following an ACL tear and later a meniscus root tear. His professional approach combined regular assessments, tailored workout plans, and a disciplined return-to-sport process that kept my rehab focused and effective. The structure closely mirrored what Project ACL aims to offer, ensuring I progressed only when appropriate. When I ignored his advice and entered a tournament too soon, I ended up reinjuring myself. That experience only confirmed how sound his judgment was. I am now nearly back to my previous level in competitive squash thanks to his expertise and steady guidance.”
“I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Brett throughout my ACL rehab, and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better coach. From day one, he was fully present and committed, helping me rebuild the confidence I honestly thought I’d lost for good. His belief in me never wavered even during the moments when mine did and that made all the difference.
Brett is a true professional when it comes to designing and structuring rehab plans. He started by helping me build a solid foundation from scratch, and as I progressed, he guided me through each stage with purpose and precision. That clear structure played a huge role in restoring my confidence and getting me back to the sport I love. I’m incredibly grateful to have had his support every step of the way.”
“Working with Dan Wilson during my ACL recovery has been one of the best parts of a tough journey. From day one, Dan was supportive, knowledgeable, and completely focused on helping me regain strength and confidence. His tailored approach and constant encouragement kept me motivated, even on the hard days. I truly couldn’t have made this progress without him. Thank you, Dan, for getting me back on my feet—both literally and mentally.”
“I tore my ACL playing basketball and saw Dan regularly as my physiotherapist over the course of over two years while preparing for, and recovering from two knee surgeries. His knowledge and expertise when it comes to knee injuries is second to none. He helped prepare me to go into the surgeries as strong as possible, and then guided me back to leading an active life during the long and challenging recovery journey.
From first regaining full extension post-op, to rebuilding balance, strength and muscle mass, Dan has your back. By doing the wide variety of rehab exercises in the gym that was prescribed to me, I was able to go back to leading an athletic and pain free lifestyle. What’s more, he was also able to correct my form on various weight lifts I’ve been doing wrong over the years to ensure that I stay injury-free. He is friendly, easy to talk to, and understands both the mental and physical aspect of ACL recovery especially for athletes who want to return to a high level of performance.
Dan is a true professional and I would highly recommend him to anyone for their physio needs!”
